In an absolute miserable night in the Bronx, on what was an absolute miserable day in history, Derek Jeter took the field to do one thing. Derek was sitting on 2,721 hits and looking for one more to surpass all Yankees and become the Bombers hit leader. His first at bat had all 55,000 standing but unfortunately led to a strike out. His second at bat had the crowd on their feet again. With one swing of the bat, Derek singled up the first base line and the Bronx was roaring.
Word's cant describe the hit coming from a Yankees fan, so I will only show the video.
Congratulations Derek, and thank you for the lasting memories.
